El Viajero

I wrote this piece before coming to the United States, hence the title. With this piece I wanted to pay an homage to my grand father, leaning into one of the most important genres from the Colombian Andean region, the Bambuco.

I wanted to evoke three perspectives on the genre which are present in the three sections of the piece: A traditional perspective, my grand father's perspective, and finally a personal perspective mainly inspired by the composer León Cardona.
